Can you take Previs-quality renders from 3D and make it look more photoreal? That was the jumping off point for this experiment.

We trained a custom LoRA on real images of our hero vehicle, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, under different lighting conditions as well as a separate lora trained on photographs of desired rocky desert landscape in which our scene took place.

The real takeaway here is that AI excels as a finishing tool in VFX and animation workflows. In post-production, 80% of the effort often goes into pushing a project through the final 20%—and this is where AI can have the most impact. By training custom datasets, filmmakers can achieve highly specific results that align with their brand or artistic vision. This allows brands to ethically train models on their own footage catalogs or licensed styles, enabling filmmakers and artists to maintain intention and creative control throughout the process.
